Maybelline Dream Matte Mouse Foundation

I decided to look for a cheaper alternative to my Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation, that I absolutely love and costs $45. I still wanted to use it most days, however since summer is coming I wanted a foundation that I could just throw on and go to the beach without carrying if it gets washed off in 5 minutes.

I found that one of the cheapest ones that I could find from Target was the Maybelline Dream Matte Mouse Foundation. I wanted one that was full coverage and easy to apply and this foundation fit both. I was surprised when I opened it and discovered that it REALLY is a mouse consistency. Turns out I really like mouse foundation because it goes on very smoothly and is super light weight yet still full coverage. The foundation even matched my skin ton, which was shocking as well because it is very hard to match your skin tone through the packaging. I am in the color Nude (Rose ivory in the Laura Mercier Silk Creme) and they had 16 choices which was nice!
I used this foundation for about 2 weeks on a daily basis so that I could get a good review out of it. I found that it was easy to apply, light weight, good consistency, not oily, wide color choice, wore longer then my silk creme, and it was almost perfect. Unfortunately I have sensitive skin and it had finally been completely clearing up for the first time in years. After using this foundation daily, I started breaking out more and more and now I have completely stopped using it to give my skin a break. I really wanted to love everything about this foundation because of its amazing price! If you dont have sensitive skin then I would 100% recommend it. It almost completely concealed my acne scarring and it left me with a really great finish.

With all that in mind, I love the Dream Matte Powder! I have heard about it on youtube and I decided to give it a try. I use it to set my silk creme foundation and liquid foundation and I am in the color beige. It gives a really great finish and it helps stop the shine that I tend to get with oily skin. So far I have not broken out yet but I am still going to keep my fingers crossed!

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Review

I was in CVS one day and I ran into a display filled with the Sally Hansen Salon Effects and I immediately wanted to try them. When I brought them to the register, I discovered that they were over $10 and that is way to much for nail polish that can only be used once. When I shopped around I found Walmart had them for HALF the price! So I went head and tried out the zebra stripped.

So here is my Review on the product:
Good-
  • Very easy to apply, takes approx. 10 minutes overall
  • No drying time. There ready to go immediately
  • Different shapes available for different nails; not one size fits all
  • Great patterns and lots of choices
  • Looks professional
  • Does not chip
Bad-
  • Way over priced for a once time manicure
  • Started to stick in my hair from the bottom of the nail after it began to grow out (about 3-4 days after application)

I really did like this product however I will not be purchasing it again. I personally would rather spend the same amount of money on a nail polish that I could use more than once rather than this just one time. I also was not able to wear it for longer than a week because of the sticking in my hair, which to me, is not getting my moneys worth.

Overall the good does out weight the bad and this is a great product that everyone should try out if you dont mind spending the money.

First Blog Post Ever!

I have been an avid reader of beauty blogs the last couple of months and everyday I am feeling more inspired to start one of my own. Today I actually chose to go through with it and waahhhlaaa. Here I am!
I think for my first blog, I want to share with everyone some of the amazing products that I found this past month and have been absolutely loving. Keep in mind that I have never done this before and please leave your feedback! Thank you!

The very first product that is my new FAVORITE is the Garnier Fructis 3-minutes undo dryness reversal treatment.

I am new to Garnier products but I saw that it was a dryness reversal and only $3 at Walmart and decided to give it a shot. This product is amazing for me and I love it. I have colored hair that is naturally oily, however because of my obsessive straightening and dying it is now dry at the ends. I use this product every time I wash my hair (3-4 times a week) and my hair has never felt better. I usually avoid placing too much on my roots because they are still oily but this has saved my ends and I recommend this to anyone with dry hair.
  1. Good Price: YES
  2. Does what it claims: YES
  3. Would I recommend it: YESS

The next thing that I have recently discovered and loved is not a product but a face washing brush. With the electric face washing brushes becoming so popular and expensive I was on a mission to find an affordable good brush to try out. Unfortunately I did not find a reasonably priced electric one but this on is still just as amazing. Its the Sephora face complexion brush.
This brush is only $5!!! and can be bought here
This brush had made my skin feel so soft and smooth. Since I have started using it, my acne has subsided and its fun to see how much dirt is on the brush after I use it and is no longer on my skin. I usually use this 3-4 times a week.

  1. Good Price: YES
  2. Does what is claims: YES
  3. Would I recommend it: YES
The last product that I want to share with you is another skin care product. I usually do not try out new face washes because I have very sensitive skin but I was desperate and willing to try anything that may help clear my blemishes.
The Clean and Clear Advantage 3-in-1 exfoliating cleanser
Ever since I have been using this and my face brush, my skin has never looked better. That is saying a lot considering I have been struggling with acne for the last 8 years. I have oily skin and this did dry out my skin a lot this first week or two after using it however it has toned down after 3 weeks. The scent is almost minty and very refreshing and the exfoliating beads are not overly harsh which is a plus for us sensitive skin people! it costs $8.49 and can be purchased here
  1. Good Price: could be better
  2. Does what is claims: YES
  3. Would I recommend this: yes, but not for people with dry skin

Thank you everyone for reading and I hope you enjoyed my very first blog post ever!!!!!!!
